This is a great location, if only there was a train crossing the bridge, it would've probably made the top 10. Thanks for entering the contest and I look forward to hopefully visiting this location in the near future :)

Simply stunning image! It's always a bonus having a steam engine in the picture, but given that this is just down the track from Glenfinnan viaduct, I've never seen it before. Wonderful landscape and the conditions are 100% Scotland. Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on first place!

Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on second place. I was trying not to simply go for the "classic" shots of railways, however, the lighting and steam patterns on this image just take it up a notch, showing the speed of the train crossing the viaduct.

I love the composition showing just how precarious the railway is perched on the mountainside. It would've been even better if you were able to shoot in the golden hour, but I understand that may not be posible. Thanks for entering the contest.

This just totally conveys the sheer scale of the Rockies! Huge trains passing by huge mountains. The clouds almost add a sense of unease about an approaching storm you want to outrun! Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on your top 10.

Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on reaching the top 10. I love the fact that this fits the brief 100%, you can see how the railway infrastructure really interacts with the rest of the city, it's somewhere I've never been but plan to in the near future.

A simple shot of a train crossing a viaduct, but it just works, I love how the (presumably newer) rail bridge towers over the other structures giving a sense of just how much the railway improved connectivity in the area. Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on your top 10.

Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on your top 10. It's always a shame to see a steam train without much steam. But this image is still wonderful, the lighting makes the train and carriages really pop. I love the building in the foreground giving some depth.

Classic location that I hope to visit one day. There was quite a few images from here entered but the lighting here proved my favourite, plus the engine tells you which country you're in :) Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on third place.

Thanks for entering the contest. This is a stunning image, the light, the cloud inversion is wonderful. This would have probably won if there was only one train at the station, it's something you couldn't control sadly. I may have to take a trip to Switzerland soon!

It's great to see an image of Ribblehead with a modern train crossing given how many people photograph the steam excursions. I love the composition, both the angle and longer focal length give a real sense of how the railway was built to navigate the hills and valleys. Thanks for entering the contest and congratulations on your top 10.

I would like to see your photos of railways and how they interact with the wider landscape. Images do not have to include trains, however all images must include some railway infrastructure as well as a wider view of the surrounding landscape. I cannot wait to see your images.

Great shot of the bridge, and well done for waiting until a train crosses. Although the picture was taken during the day the lighting perfectly shows the intricate details of the bridge, both the metal and brick. Thanks for entering the contest.
