I really love the high contrast between the background and the seaweed, the lighting is wonderful as well and helps to highlight all of the wonderful texture of the seaweed. A stunning image, so very surreal! I love the composition, my eyes go right to the beautiful swirling water that overlaps the seaweed, the beautiful tones that reflect onto the seaweed and the water from the sky are breath taking and then all of the homes by the bay really add to this already amazing image! This contest is for your photos of seaweed, a group of algae that grows in oceans, lakes, rivers and more. It comes in a variety of shapes and types and is also edible and all the new rave in healthy eating fads. You can get creative with your images, or you can just photograph it on the beach. As long as seaweed is a dominant part of the photograph, however you decide to photograph it is up to you. Creativity and new images are a plus. I look forward to seeing your images of seaweed.
Meet the judge
I was overjoyed with the fact that someone entered a photograph that focused on seaweed being served as food. It's a beautiful dish that displays the subject matter wonderfully. This one come close to being in my top ten, but there where some tough decisions to make. Congratulations on the commend and thank you for entering into my contest.
Such a beautiful photograph, with amazing clarity and wonderful cool earthy tones that really pop!
