Selfie in the Mirror

Thank you for entering this contest! Ther were quite a few entries of from people using mirrors on the ceiling, but I particularly like this one. The conversion to black and white is done really well, with a great range of light and dark, and texture. And I love the expressions on the faces.

Thank you for entering this contest! I really like semi-abstract quality to this photo. We know we are looking at a reflection, with a hand coming up to the forehead, and a towel wrapped around the head. But the texture of the water and scratchs on the mirror take away the detail. With a limited colour palette, the photo has the quality of a very faded old, damaged painting, but is all the more inrtiguing for it - we cannot help but start building a story around what we can - and cannot - see :)

Thank you for entering this contest! I have to say I do love the back and gold colour scheme of the whole photo - very nicely done! The use of diagonals with your posture, along with the way the fabric hangs down, creates a lovely compostion that allows the eye to flow inand around the image :)

Thank you for entering this contest! Elevators so often have mirrors in them, that they can be great way to take a photo in a very small space. There were many entries using them - indeed my own selfie in an elevator was used for the banner image of this contest. However, I particularly like the centered composition and the conversion to black and white, with strong contrasts.

Thank you for entering this contest! Clearly a lot of time, thought and energy went into creating this self portrait. I enjoyed the longer description you gave in one of the other ones in your set about these images, but this was my favourite, visually, with the further 2 faces reflected to your sides. Given the symmetrical nature of the composition, I think if you had extended the width of the photo so the other faces were complete, and not cropped, it would have improved it a touch more

The composition, the lighting, the pose, and the camera angle, all combine to create something that feels like we have stepped into another world. It would work well as a book cover or album cover. Or if it was a movie poster, I know I would want to watch the film :)

Thank you for entering this contest! This made me smile. There is clearly a beautiful model in the background, wonderfully lit by the sun to the side, and ready to be photographed. And yet the photographer is entirely focused on his own reflection! A fun image :)
