The first thing I love about this image is how three-dimensional it is with its many layers: the tidy rows of rice in the middle, the more bushy ones in the foreground and the misty mountains and river in the distance.
Each layer adds depth, telling a new line in the story of the shot. Nothing is out of place, nothing is distracting; every element exuding a sense of calm and peace in the viewer.
A fantastic landscape shot thoroughly deserving first place. Well done!
This shot is the perfect example of how an image that is simple and minimalistic can still look striking. Composition-wise, I like how the road was positioned precisely in the centre of the frame and the cycling subject respects the rule of two thirds. The lines of the dome structure and its reflection make an interesting and pleasingly graphic frame around the subject, giving the shot a truly unique appearance. The muted colours beautifully contribute to the minimalist look of the shot, helping draw the viewer's eye to the colourful subject. A very successful capture, well done!
A beautiful, clean, minimalist image where the concept of 'stripes' is explored clearly and elegantly through very pleasing composition. I love how the stripes all seemingly originate from the top corner of the frame, swooping down diagonally like visible sunbeams. The clean curve of the balcony and its see-through rail, catching the reflections of the lights above, contribute to the sense of tidiness and elegance conveyed by this image. A beautiful capture - well done!
