I love the starkness of this scene. Maybe not the most inviting on a grey snowy day, but a certain kind of beauty nonetheless. Although a colour image, I love the monochrome greys, lifted just a little by the white of the snow, perfectly conveying the chill of the season. Simple but effective, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the rather monochromatic look of this image, dominated by dark gold tones. The patterns on the table are mimicked by the textures and what looks to be leaves on the wet paving. The composition adds interest to the image, looking across the tabletop in the foreground to the table and chair behind. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
What really attracted me initially to this image is the precise composition, which gives real impact to the shot. Although the subject is clearly identifiable, there is a strong absteact to the image, which I love. Framing of the elements works really well, with the rear table just contained in the frame, and the corners of the front table clipped into at just the right point. Tones and volours look natural with no signs of over-processing. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
The viewpoint from directly overhead makes this a fascinating capture. Although the subject is obvious, there is an abstract feel to the shot too. Although we are viewing the scene from quite a distance, we are close enough to see lots of details on and around the tables for the eye to explore. The contrasting colours of the cool bright turquoise and the warmer beige shades are very attractive. The image looks pin-sharp with great tones and contrasts. Congratulations on your winning image.
I love this image, bright colours and a welcoming place to sit, telling a story of what looks to be a special place no doubt offering some tempting fayre. Composition and framing is good, with the table and chairs well contained, but allowing some of the surroundings to be visible to give context. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

Although this is a fairly busy scene, the eye is drawn to the shiny surface of the glass table. I love the mood of the shot, creating an atmosphere of lovely homely cosiness, looking to be a delightful place to sit over breakfast to set up for the day ahead. Lighting looks quite tticky, with natural lighting looking to be coming from several aspects, but it has been well handled with nothing too bright nor too dark. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
A fantastic shot of a table, creatively using camera blur to produce a striking image. It is not obvious how exactly the image was created, but the result is very appealing. I love the colours and tones, and the hint of a couple of objects positioned on the top of the table. The little bright lines on the top right corner are a little distracting but should be easy to clone out. Congratulations on your third place finish.
The bright contrasting colours are an immediate draw to this shot, with the table and chairs standing out from the painted wall. The colours are bold but not over-saturated, which can be a temptation when faced with such bright colours. Composition is simple, but everything has been well placed and the image is pleasing on the eye. Well done on your top ten placing.
I am not usually a fan of images with vintage-style toning effects, but this one drew my eye and in an image I like a lot. The unusual table is centrally placed, but is small enough so as to not block the view of the scene beyond. Lighting has been well handled, as we get a mix of natural and artificial light, with the image being shot towards the large window, whihb is always tricky. The shot conveys a lovely mood of a nice and cosy and relaxing place to sit over a coffee and cake. Well done on your top ten placing.
An unusual viewpoint of a woven/wickerwork table and accompanying chairs, shot ftom up close to create a rather abstract look. I love that the subject fills the frame, so there are no distractions and the eye can explore the varying shapes and textures. Being picky, I may have been inclined to lift the point of focus point from the top of the chair arms to the edge of the table, but that is only a small issue. Congratulations on your second place finish.

This contest is for your photos of tables; the type used as furniture. The tables should be a prominent feature of your photo, not, for example, predominantly a still-life composition that just happens to be on a table. You can show the tables in any setting from a palatial dining room or a cosy family kitchen, to a backstreet cafe or picnic spot. Photos can also show tables used for specific purposes such as snooker tables or bird tables. Images can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
