This image speak to the very intersection of 'human' and 'technologyy'.
At it's core this instantly evokes a human eye, complete with the depth of a soul and a heart.
On second look its more clear this is a piece of a machine, a monster of industry with fine, detailed engineering and precision.
The layers of repeating blades, with a haunting red glow give a wonderful variance of light, with a tonal gradient that gives it both the depth of soul and the depth of the properties of light.

This image works for me in so many ways. It's a science photograph, an engineering photograph, but too a documentary photograph and yet also a photo that demonstrates the gradient of light that makes photography possible.
Mysterious and otherworldly, this photo asks questions of the viewer, is abstract but also very scientific.
It's great to see so many qualities of white, the gradient of the atmosphere and the soft power of human engineering intersecting with the natural world.
As my favorite image in the 'technology' competition, this image has many elements which lends itself to being the winner.
First, and through a 'technology' lens, this image makes me think about the future. There's a futuristic element that shines through every part of this image.
We have a unique method of transportation, but it unclear where it is coming from or where it is going to - and that is the essence of the future.
From a purely photographic perspective, this image makes wonderful use of light. Nearly every part of the image - every line, every edge, is etched in light.
The way the diagonal cables reflect the light, fading from top to bottom and left to right is especially beautiful.

There's some very nice elements of form and line in this image that really help it stand out, even against the spectacular color.
The focal plane here adds a really unique element to the image, as the hills are separated and thus blurred.
The two diagonal focal plane lines converging from left to right at our subject are very nice. Add the selfie stick and the shocking purple across the image, and we have a very nice image!

I really liked this image, but without additional explanation its hard to appreciate the image.
I would have liked to have seen an expalanation of the editing here. Personally, I am not much for 'Photoshopped' work. I believe a good photograph is evident in its RAW form.
That being said, I believe this image would have been strong were it not for its cartoonish edits.
The composition here is very, very nice, and and I would like to see it pulled back to reality.
