That Child In You...

April 2017

Look at his face, the serious expression. He truly believes he's going to save the world, lost in a childish world of imaginination and wonder! The grittiness of the photo give it that film noir look, like this mini Captain America has a dark task to carry out and is trying to psych himself up. Well done!

From the moment I saw this photo, while the contest was still open, I knew it was going to be in my top 10. But the more I look at it, the more it makes me smile, so it's my number 1. It sucks me in, I can imagine her giggling while crawling through, both regretting starting, but enjoying every minute of feeling like a child again! Well done!

I remember many a happy summers day playing on rope swings, feeling like you were going to touch the sky before leaping off and defying death. This almost made my top 10, but I felt there was I little too much going on, I'd would have liked to just have the main subject with no other distractions

For those of us around 40, down to kids of today, who didn't love lego? It's little cubic fuel for the imagination! My son plays with me with it now, and it transports me back 30years. I like this picture purely for its randomness, it made me smile.

I didn't even see the car in this photo until the second glance, I was drawn to the mans face! It may not be the intended focus of the photo, but for some reason the blur seems to make me more drawn to it than if it was in focus. I fee like laughing along with him as soon as I open the photo! Well done!

My dad taught me how to skip stones, and it gave me many a happy day on the beach, returning home to tell him about a 7er or 8er that I'd managed! The only thing I'd say is, I'd have tried to get a lower angle a taken a burst to try to catch a skip on the water.

It's like no one is there but him, and the look of concentration. It's only that child side of us that can put so much concentration into something so 'pointless'. I want to know the story behind this picture. Well done!

There's two photos from this person of the same boy, and I love them both. But it's the anticipation in this picture that I can feel. I'm willing him to land, you can almost feel the potential energy in the photo. Well done! (I've commended the other photo too)

No matter how old you are, there's something from your childhood that when you see it, brings back memories and makes you feel young again. Be it a toy, game, place or childish food, who's to say what brings out that child in you.
