The Colour White (in colour)

This image really hit me at first sight. White is often seen as the absence of any colour, but it can also be demanding your attention like in this photo. There's nothing special about this horse, but this was not a beauty contest, it was all about the impact of the colour white. Brilliant composition and lighting. Congratulations, you're my worthy winner.

Swans featured heavily in this contest, but it was this image in particular that caught my eye. So full of dynamic, yet clear and focused - absolutely brilliant. The black background is ever so effective in enhancing the sheer brilliance of the movements and the water spray. Amazing photo

White on white can be quite risky, but not with this cheeky Chappy! I'm glad that you didn't try and go 'hight key' with this brilliant photo, as it would have lost all its natural glory. The shadow gives the whole image an extra bonus in breaking up the monotony of the snowy ground. Thank you!

Oh dear, someone is having a bad hair day! What a great capture, just caught the right moment. Despite the windy condition the image is clear and well-focused. The blue colour of the water, together with the sunlight, really bring out the vibrancy of the white plumage. Well done.

I hope that you stayed at a safe distance for this shot. What an amazing image! The clear and deep blue of the sky sets off the whiteness of the lighthouse and the massive waves perfectly. It's rare to get this combination of blue sky and massive waves.
