Trees

With it's irresistible minimalist appeal, this was one of the standouts from a quality field of tree photos. The small, lone tree amongst the varied, soft, blue tones worked so well together overall. The lines coming down the hill to meet the tree help guide the eye toward the subject. Well done and well deserved of a top 5 placing!

A strikingly beautiful image made so with it's strong, bold colours and lines. The back-lighting creates a magnificent silhouette of all of the trees except the golden Beech tree that stands majestically in it's black and white surrounds thanks to the selective colour technique. An image to be proud of - well done!

I knew this was a strong photo amongst what was a field of high quality entries from when I first sighted it. A striking image with countless near parallel lines and colours of similar tones. This nicely composed picture demonstrates how it's often more effective to include just the mid-section of trees, rather than the whole tree, to achieve a brilliant result. Amazing photo - well done!

Absolutely beautiful composition! The balance of the vibrant colours is awesome with the green below, blue above and the wonderful Autumn / Fall colours through the middle. There is high clarity and then there's the many details that I admired as I looked over this image for quite some time - the range of detail within the trees, the flock of birds in the sky, the fence line along the bottom, the shed plus the shadows falling down the green slope. This would look amazing up on a wall and would be a great feature in a room. Congrats on a magnificent image!

This is a beautiful, emotive image that was one of the real standouts in what was a high quality field. There were so many features to admire in the overall composition which are complimented so well by the moody fog. The two figures are clouded by the mist but are unmistakable and elevate the photo in my mind, perfectly photographed through the gate. A beautiful, Autumn picture that would look amazing up on a wall. Well done!
