Bring on the sunglasses. I love the harsh sunlight in this photograph. The bright green door with its double hasp is perfect to show off the strong shadows of the hardware. It looks like there could twenty coats of paint under the green topcoat. The brass lock pops against the green and the metal shines under the sun's rays. Everything in this shots works together to create a very inviting photograph. Well done.
I love all of the small details in this photograph. The muted colors, cracks in the sidewalk and texture of the pillars creates an atmosphere of ruin and decay. The pop of weeds adds to this feeling. The ornateness of the gate and design of the doorway and pillars hints at a richer past. The viewer is left to wonder what lies behind the arched doorway today, and whether the chains and barbed wire are to keep people inside or to keep them out. Thank you for sharing this unique photograph.
Thank you for entering your beautiful photograph in Under Lock and Key. This shot is. full of mystery and intrigue. As I study the photo,, I find myself wanting to rub my hand over the wood.. The contrast between the golden warm wood panel and the ebony carved inlay. is striking I love the brass diamond-shaped escutcheon and key. Since there is nothing to compare the key and escutcheon with to calculate size, it could be a attached to a small writing desk or jewel box, or something large like a wardrobe. The close up shot invites the viewer to imagine what is so valuable to be locked inside this beautifully embellished piece of furniture. Congratulations on capturing a great shot.

Thank you for your entry of this intriguing padlock and key set. I like the raised lizard on the lock. The keys do not appear to match the lock, unless the keyhole is on the other side of the lock. The wood and metal strap on the old chest are full of character. I would have like the photograph better if the box was actually locked with padlock instead of being separate from and laid on top of the box.
You found a beautiful brass lockset attached to this gate. I love all of the details on the lock and slide. It is a real work of art by itself. Your composition is lovely with the religious relics in the background framed by the bars on the gate. The sharp focus on the lock and depth of field provide the finishing touch to wonderful photograph. Thank you for sharing your entry.
