Use of the Colour Orange

I could not fault this photograph if I tried, what a delightful composition, arrangement of subjects and choice of colours. The consistent warm tones, lighting and choice of subjects make for a hearty, almost fragrant scene. The eye never struggles to find something interesting in this image, the long wooden grains in the negative space, the bunched up cinnamon, segmented clementine and neatly presented array of clementines come together in an explosion of sensory goodness. Perfectly in focus, detailed and wonderfully composed, it gives me all the warmth of a hot-chocolate on a cold snowy day. Very well done and congratulations!

This photo really nailed the objectives in this contest in my opinion. The warm orange tones come across as almost defiant in such a cold scene, making for a really interesting and unique image. The contrasting temperatures combined with the pleasant framing, shallow depth of field and accompanying description really captured the story surrounding the moment. This photo is just bursting with charm. The subject is interesting. The still and calmness of the surrounding water convey a delightful tranquil tone. The warm orange tones combined with the pastel blue backdrop make for a really pleasing colour pallet. The central head on composition add a really nice degree of symmetry to the image. The subject is tack sharp and full of character as is the reflection in the water below making for a very impressive photograph! Brilliant!

The storytelling in this photo, and the accompanying description, is just phenomenal. I think you've done a tremendous job capturing the moment, the emotions of the subject and joyous chaos surrounding while also drawing a degree of mystery and intrigue in the negative space above the subject, hidden behind a cloud of orange dust. It leaves me wanting to know more or experience it myself! Interesting subject, very nicely composed, excellent storytelling and an all-round lovely image, amazing!

A very unique entry into this contest, this use of orange makes for a very intriguing photo overall. The bold contrast of the orange hat against the otherwise muted tones leaves me wanting to know more about this subject.

So rightly titled "Sahara Serenity", this image conveys beautiful orange, pink and blue tones resulting in a soothing, tranquil and altogether serene landscape. I particularly liked how the peak of the dunes draws your eyes along and through the centre of the image and across the horizon along which you discover evidence of a busy day, which has clearly been concluded in a vibrant and colourful sunset. Wonderful composition, use of colour and story telling. Amazing work.
