Thank you for entering my competition. There were a number of entries of this scene, all different in their own way. I like the subtle colour palette of this image together with the delicate outline of the tree and its reflection. The use of a narrower aperture successfully captures detail on the far shore.

great depth of field and detail. You have captured the spray of the wave in the low light which contrasts dramatically with the dark sky.. The movement and energy of the wave is offset by the solidity of the lighthouse. A well-deserved first place.

I like the way the light breaking through the clouds illuminates the and defines the different water courses in the estuary. You have included just enough foreground to give the scene scale.

Thank you for entering my competition. This image caught my eye and spoke to me. First of all I am in awe of you perched on a slippery rock over a precipice! Secondly you have successfully portrayed the fragility of man in the grand scheme of things. The negative space of the sky illustrates the vastness of nature and the swirling mist demonstrates its force. Conversion to black and white is very effective and draws attention to the figure on the rock. The whole image engages the viewer. Well done!

Thank you for entering my competition. This image perfectly captures the mining heritage of Wales. The original point of view creates some wonderful geometric shapes and the red rust provides contrast with the soft blue of the sky. The back light helps the whole structure to stand out. Very well done!

Thank you for entering my competition. The aperture has ensured a great depth of field. I like the contrasting textures of the sky and the sea. The seaweed anchors the image and provides scale, and the lighthouse and the island are perfectly placed within the composition. Well done
