Water

I knew I had set myself a hard challenged by setting a contest with such a broad brief and it did not take long to fill the 2000 great entries, but I had to come to a decision on my top 10.

I choose this for my 1st place because I think it fits the theme of water perfectly a girl on a canoe on the lakes and what a lovey view she had, but what a shame that it was raining for her.

But I think the rain adds to this image you can see the drops of rain water on the lake and in the air which really adds to this image.

Well done to the photographer sitting behind her and getting 1st place.

This is a simple and clean composition for my water brief with a cleaver use of colours with the lone green plant coming out of the sand and the rich blue sea and sky in the background. so simple. Well done.

well done in getting 9th place.

What a great action shot of a Red crested Pochard splashing in the water, you got down low which throws the background nicely out of focus you used a fast shutter speed which froze the water the focusing is spot on and the aperture you used is spot on by keeping the Pochard and water splash nicely in focus which intern throws the foreground and background out of focus.

Well done in getting 7th place.

This image is full of drama and atmosphere, it is such a simple composition with the pylon taking centre stage and the wind turbines in the distance. I like the clever editing you done on the water, and the conversation to black and white make the image jump out.
