We Will Remember Them (War Memorials)

The Spean Bridge Commando Memorial was a popular subject in this competition but I was very much taken with your view showing the commandos “ looking out over the bleak territory they trained in” it was this different view that captured the spirit and meaning of the memorial well done

This image shows simplicity but is well composed and taken against the setting sun certainly is a fitting tribute and goes with the words “at the going down of the sun” I like how you have managed to capture layers in the clouds and haventburnt out any details in the setting sun

The thought that went into this image with the layout of the poppies as well as the book of remembrance makes this a very powerful image in the way it brings the memories of the fallen to the foreground of the viewers thoughts well done

This image of the Iwo Jima Memorial struck me as being well composed and great care was taken with the exposure to get the image standing out from a black sky. I commend you on getting such a thoughtful tribute to those who served

The treatment of the crosses giving them a white outline against a black background and making the crosses black was both imaginative and resulted in a striking image that differed from the other images of war graves. You have managed to capture the solemnity in a most unusual way congratulations
