This garden appears to be a little haven for wild life , a pond always brings in plenty of insects which in turn attracts the birds and other creatures. I like the shadow slowly creeping across the garden adding drama to the image, but for me I think taking the shot from a slightly lower angle might have given the pots and bird bath a little more height, that's only my opinion , otherwise a great effort, well done.
This is a lovely little garden ,. It looks like a cool place on a warm day with the overhanging Foliage shading this area, the foreground adds light to the image that first draws your eye and then you wander up the path through the metal arch to the stone feature and pond at the rear of shot. Really well done.
For me this is a garden full of delights from the silvery tall leaves in the foreground to the little bird box at the back, the array of foliage adds interest all around the brick circle and the seating area above placed in just the right position so as not to interrupt the flow. I can see this garden is great for all sorts of insects and bees etc. If you plant for wildlife,it will come. The black and white conversion is super as is the framing , there is such a lot lot to hold the viewer and therefor for me, a worthy winner. Very well done.
I was drawn to the low angle of this shot, as photographers it's good to experiment away from standing shots as you can achieve a better sense of height of the overall scene as in this shot, the eastern statue looks taller and more prominent ,it's not the biggest garden but it is a place to sit quietly and relax. The photographer here has filled the whole frame and created a very pleasing image, well done on a top ten placing.

For me this is a beautiful, simple and well framed image, I wasn't looking for flower heads in this challenge as many entered, I was looking for your own garden or patio or your pots, this image fits my brief perfectly but with style, I'm sure when these plants are in bloom they really come into their own and brighten the steps with colour. It's a great overall compostion and deserving of a top ten placing, very well done.
I was so disappointed to see this beautiful image was in fact," not your garden". Wisley gardens is an RHS garden. For this reason it is not on brief and should not have been entered. I congratulate you on a super shot however if only you read the brief and the title,it clearly states "Your" garden. It gets frustrating for those of us that set these competitions if photographers don't follow our briefs. This image would of rated highly if it had been on brief.

For this contest I would like to see images of your own garden in black and white. It could be the whole garden, or just a small part, but I do not want to see large landscaped gardens of stately homes. If you do not have a garden, flower pots or a balcony garden is fine. At this time of year there is a lot of growth and when shown in black & white, yellow flowers become white, greens become grey etc. I would like you to concentrate on the foliage, the design and the overall scene of your garden and show it in black & white. Any form of processing is fine and encouraged. Please no people or animals. A title and description is essential. Good luck.
