All About Christmas

January 2024

I love the warmth coming from inside the room. The glow of light on the faces and fantastic composition to include the wreath outside really gives us a sense of coming together and the spirit of what Christmas is all about. Using the window is a clever way to compose and frame the scene and it works so well. It's cold outside but we all want to be inside with friends and this picture reminds us of our own gatherings at a special time of year Well done.

This could be a postcard. It depicts the classic look of Christmas through a stunning composition and perfect technique. The photographer has caught the Robin at the right time with a gaze into the frame. This is a subtle image but one that we have all seen before but not as good as this. The pin sharp Robin against the darker tones of the background with the flakes of snow is magical. A Christmas classic. Well done.

This could be taken straight from a campaign or Christmas advert on TV. It's perfect and maybe the type of day we all want but can only imagine or dream about. The quality of the backlight coming through the window is wonderfully controlled with the rim light all around the girls hair which makes her stand out. The sheer size and scale of the trees against the person creates a magical world. The colors are not too saturated, just really well judged and the expression on the little girs face looking at camera is lovely as are her out stretched arms. Sharp in the eyes with a soft fall off adds to the perfect day. Merry Christmas. A wonderful constructed image
