This image with its repetitive geometric designs and elements immediately catches the eye. It is very well framed and it is obvious special care has been taken to ensure it is perfectly aligned on the vertical and horizontal axis. There is something depressing but oddly satisfying about images like this. Large functional buildings standing like monoliths in urban landscapes. These scenes appeal to me for how stark they are in contrast to our own modern ideals. Great capture and thank you for sharing with the competition.

I like this image because it not only shows brutalist architecture but also tells a story. The sparse trees and demolition work in the foreground almost seems to compliment the stark aesthetic of the housing blocks in the background. They almost seem to be growing out of the ground as they increase in height like a concrete urban forest. Thank you very much for sharing this image and congratulations on such a fantastic capture.

This is a great capture. Brutalist architecture immediately brings thoughts of the Soviet Era to mind for me. The statue of Lenin and the soldier in the foreground are a great narrative tool and only help to further compliment the story of the large fortress-like building in the background. There is a lot of space on the left of the image which draws the eye away a little. Possibly a more symmetrical crop of this image would help. Congratulations on the great shot and thank you for sharing with the competition.

The processing of this image really made it stand out. The red highlights to me could represent the colours of the Soviet flag, an institution that almost took this style of architecture and made it their calling card around its territories. The sharp contrast between the light and shadows helps to accentuate the brutal lines of the building and make it appear even more imposing. Great work, interesting capture and thank you for sharing it with the competition.

Enter your photos of buildings or monuments with brutalist design features. In the 1950's the architectural style known as Brutalism or grew out of the modernist movement. These monolithic structures, typically identified by their bold and blocky concrete appearances have divided the public opinion for years. Despite the harsh and often gloomy appearance I think there is a lot of beauty in their simplicity and functionality. I am looking for interior or exterior architectural photos with brutalist themes.
