Thank you for entering this beautiful image. What made it stand out for me amongst so many other photos of lakes or rivers, is the variations of so many forms of ice. You capture not just one frozen water expanse, but show air-bubbles, cracks, spikes, rough and smooth ice, changing all the way into the distance. Nature surely isn't a one-trick pony!!

I just love to take photos of frosted spider webs. There must be hundreds - and there are several excellent examples in this contest, but your image stood out right from the moment I spotted it. The way the light enhances the feeling of looking at something very delicate and exquisite is amazing. The detail and clearness of the frosted silk artwork is mesmerising. Thank you.

Thank you for entering such an amazing image. I cannot believe the colours, the difference in level of light and the overall impression of being in another world. It looks almost unreal, like straight out of a Disney production, but this is nature at its best. Breath-taking!

It isn't always the big & dramatic photos that demonstrate something very clearly, but the small-scale keen observation of a photographer that opens the viewers eyes. What a beauty!
