Urbex photography and HDR processing were just made for each other as this image so effortlessly demonstrates.
It’s a lovely interior with a nice subtle colour palette but the star of the show is the open suitcase and scattered sheets of paper.
If these items were already in place you were very lucky, if you moved them there then you placed them well and if you took them with you as props then I commend your foresight.
Either way it’s a fine image ….. well done.
Wow, what a great room and ideal for HDR processing to exaggerate the detail and add visual punch.
I could, and have, looked at this image for ages as there’s just so much to hold the attention. Clever also to use an elongate crop to cram in as much detail as possible.
Well done on a top ten placing.
A small room and hence very difficult to come up with a good viewpoint and a clean composition.
The photographer has done well here, the viewpoint is well chosen, the verticals are true and the views through the window and door open the image up nicely.
The HDR processing is sympathetic to the room and the soft light and subtle colour palette works a treat.
A first rate image …. well done.
Thanks to everyone for submitting such a variety of high quality images, you certainly made it difficult for me to select a top ten never mind choosing between them for top spot.
My first placed image is a cracker. An interior full of interest , a well chosen viewpoint and a first-rate monochrome conversion.
The scene lacks extremes of light and shade and so to some extent is easier to process but that said the HDR “look” is definitely there and adds considerable visual punch.
Well done on a great image.

I would like to see your best HDR photos taken inside any building that is not used for religious purposes. HDR (high dynamic range) is a processing technique whereby multiple frames are taken at different exposure values and then combined in-camera or with specialist software to create a single image with retention of both highlight and shadow detail. In my judging I will be looking for interesting interiors that are well composed and which use HDR sympathetically and with good effect. The contest is for non-religious buildings only, so please do not enter images taken in cathedrals, churches, temples, mosques etc. Your entries may be in colour or black and white.
