Sleeping on the street is an inconvenience for anybody, yet many people have no choice. The things that come so easily to us, the ones privileged with a roof above our heads, are incredibly difficult and sometimes impossible for homeless people. The way you captured this picture, with so many blurry figures and the still man in the middle, the ''thank you'' note...I have no words. You managed to bring a lot of emotion with your capture. Well done!
I must admit, among so many photos that depicted social and environmental issues, I wasn't sure if yours should be in top 10. Yet, it's so direct and charming. A common issue (wisdom tooth?), but incredibly long and painful. What I like most and why I ranked your photo so high, is the fact that the composition pulls you in. It's engaging, as if you're a trainee, you're there, you're important enough to be shown something and taught. The patient seems to be looking at you, waiting for your reaction. It's a really good photograph. Well done!
Though it's not a mindblowing technical chievement, your photo and the little story behind it are in my top 10 because they show something so old, yet so dangerous. Something from the past, violent and destructive, yet capable of affecting the future. In light of the current events, nuclear threats and terrorism, these bombs are a stark reminder that we could be next. Well done!
I chose your picture because this kind of vandalism, and so clearly a depiction of Nazism, is one of the things I hate most. Graffiti can be a beautiful thing when it's not just a bunch of signatures of ''edgy'' teenagers. There are so many examples of such art, why soil the city with random scribbles? And I will never understand the need to draw Hitler's moustache on people. What's the point? Your photo has such an impact because of its subject and its size, the public nature of it and the location. I am so, so happy that the entries in this competition brought forth important issues, since visibility helps find solutions. Well done!
I am very happy that the majority of the photos entered in this contest showed issues such as homelesness and the destruction of our environment, I feel that increased visibility is a good step towards a solution and it shows that we are not blind. I chose your photo, as the first, because it shows that the dystopian future so well imagined in pop culture is actually here. The children looking through the high society's bins are real, deep in plastic bottles and breathing poluted air, right now. If a picture speaks a thousand words, I hope yours and the ones similar to yours shout. Well done!

Rape is an issue that should never be treated as an inconvenience, but, at the core, thinking of the damage it causes to the victims, both men and women, I can't bear to use any other word. How can one soften such a blow? I am deeply happy that people recognize the issue and campaign against it. Your picture is perfect and makes me feel that people are strong and capable of hanging onto their beautiful self even in the murkiest, ugliest times. Well done!
While the road being blocked is, certainly, inconvenient, I chose your picture for the top 10 because I feel it shows something that I, and many other people, am not okay with. Farming is an essential part of human culture, but treating your animals poorly, their bones poking through their skin... Just because they're animals, doesn't give anybody the right to treat them as such. I think your photo has a lot of atmosphere and I'm happy you chose black&white. Well done!
I knew I had to bring this in my top 10! Modern life is amazing, but it's incredible how inconvenient water can be for it, isn't it? What a fun picture, direct and relatable. I love the contrast between the background and the colour of the DVD. I would've darkened the black a bit more, but I think that's just my own pet peeve. Overall, a fantastic interpretation of the theme. Well done!

Here's a challenge for you! What annoys you? Maybe it's the dishes not being washed in a certain order, litter on the street, maybe it's books arranged randomly or perfectly, who knows? Whatever your pet peeve is, I challenge you to take a picture of it! (Personally, I don't like beds being made because I find messy beds more inviting. Silly, eh?)
