Thank you for entering this captivating image in the contest. This is a very well deserved top 10 image. This image keeps drawing the viewer in along the leading line "s - curve" boardwalk. The detail and contrast of each individual board is remarkable. The boardwalk serves as a perfect transition from the glowing trees of the forest to the random reeds in the reflecting waters. Thank you for entering the contest. This image was a bit different from most of the other compositions entered. This stood out to me in several places: minimalism, reflections, symmetry, texture, contrast. There is something magical about the stillness captured in the image. The texture of the trees is beautiful. The intrigue presented by the empty boathouse speaks of a mysterious venture of those vacating such a peaceful vista. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then for this image they would all have to do with peace, calm, serenity. All the things this world is in dire need of. Thank you again and congratulations.

Thank you first for entering this beautiful infrared image. Many reasons why I chose this as a well deserved 1st place. First of all, there were sooo many really incredible infrared images that it was really hard to decide on probably the top 25 or so images. This one really stood out. Second, I love how the image is framed in a historic archway. Third, the image just pulls the viewer in. It certainly keeps me looking, exploring, and admiring it. Next, the castle structure complements the archway framing the image. This is like a world unto itself. I really like the definition and contrast in the clouds. I take my share of infrared photos and never have any with clouds of this definition. Finally, I really love how the dark flat sea melts into the steep geologic topography glowing with trees that scream this can only be infrared. Thank you again for entering such a spectacular image. Whilst this could be considered more of a woodland photo than strictly landscape, I love how the infrared light makes the grasses glow white amongst the contrasting sentinel trees. The tree trunks appear to be wandering around like the Ents in The Lord of The Rings - The Two Towers. Thank you and congratulations.

The pedestrians traversing the trail help give a sense of scale, depth, and reality to an otherwise magical image. Well done. The trees really glow to impress upon an entrained eye that this would be a winter wonderland. Great processing. If anything could possibly make this awesome photo any closer to perfection would be a darker sky to contrast the nice clouds and cover a few dust spots. Very nice and magical image. I love the leading lines of the sandy paths. the sea oats provide nice framing and detail to the edges. The clouds have a mystical and misty appearance. The set of humble beach cottages set with a cloud of intrigue being only partially visible. This reminds me of the safe house vista in Harry Potter The Deathly Hallows. I love the way you incorporated a leading line with the topography of the landscape ridge in the left. Then you added in the really nice leading line / "s" curves of the road snaking its way through the countryside. The partially hidden farm house adds a little mystery and pops off the screen with its dark solitary stance. Thank you and congratulations.

Thank you for entering this wonderful image. The sky is really contrasting and detailed. I love the leading pathway drawing the viewer into the image toward the minimalistic lighthouse. The contrast of the grass on the left side of the path with sweeping blades showing some ethereal movement in lower left really contrasts and compliments the stubby juniper-like scrub brush on the right hand side of the path. Finally, the footprints in the pathway add a feeling of movement as if many have traveled there to discover something that the viewer can only guess at.
