I hesitated over this one, but I kept coming back to it because it is so 'different'. It is a perfectly chosen leaf for the study. I think I would, probably, have removed the small white mark from the trellis which, although natural, I find slightly distracting. Not my normal style but for some reason it works for me. Well done and thank you for entering this contest.
This one made it into my Top Ten due to it's originality and theme. It is well executed and the placement of the elements is good. The focus is good and the depth of field is interesting as the eye is led into what I assume is natural ice. The only distraction is the tiny scratch on the surface right in the centre, although I appreciate this is natural it may make for a more pleasing image if it could be removed by editing? An interesting entry, thank you.
I like the simplicity of this shot. The complimentary colours of red and green works well. The way the focus gets sharper as your eye travels down the leaf until you reach the all important drip is very well executed. My only small criticism is the cutting off of the very tip of the right hand leaf - is there any chance it could be included if the photo was cropped slightly differently? However, I find it a very pleasant image and it deserves it's place in my Top 10. Well done.

A simple entry that deserved it's place in my Top Ten because it is so well executed. The lighting that catches the frosty rim is perfect and the soft background that compliments the rich colour of the leaves is very pleasant. Personally, I might have just toned down the blue patch in the bottom left hand corner, but that is just my opinion. A lovely entry. Thank you.

I would like to see your photos of leaves that are naturally any colour except green. Look around and you will find red, orange, yellow, grey, purple or even black. The leaves can be any shape and size but I only want to see leaves; they can still be attached to twigs and stems but I do not want to see whole trees or plants. I do not want dead or decaying leaves, just living, natural coloured leaves. I will accept a small amount of green if a leaf is variegated. I hope you have fun with the contest.
