Mist and Fog in the City

This has been one of the most difficult contests to choose, due to the amount of fabulous images that I was able to receive. There are dozens of images that deserve first place but unfortunately only one can take that first place. After reviewing the material a lot, I have been left with this beautiful image as the winner of the first place. There are several reasons: among them is the complexity of handling a night photo, the mystery that the image keeps, the wonderful composition that was achieved, the contrast between light and shadow, and the long exposure that generates that subtle movement in people. It is a fantastic work of art. Congratulations!

For a long time it was my number 1 photo. It is by far a wonderful photo due to its composition, its component elements, its simplicity and dynamics, in addition to the perfect use of black and white. However, among so many wonderful photos, I had to choose the ones that were most explicit regarding the theme of the city as such. Excellent photo, congratulations!

This image caught my attention from the first moment. Not only for being in black and white, but for the perfect balance of the different actors in it: the trees, the people, the lights, and on the other side the building hidden behind the mist. A wonderful photo.

One of my favorite photos! It looks even better when details like the skateboarding of the person, and the ship lost in the mist are found. The blue tone of the photograph makes it different and denotes that cold generated by the climate of the moment.

What struck me about this photo is the way the mist reflects the lights from the windows of the building, generating a fascinating play of light and shadow. It is rare, different from all and very well achieved. It would surely be a perfect painting to decorate a space. Congratulations!

A beautiful photo of a beautiful city. The perfect composition reveals the cathedral and part of the city hidden under the mist. One of my favorite photos for its colors and textures. I love the soft colors used in this case, that make it lovely. Wonderful!

One of my favorite images. In addition to the fabulous diagonal formed by the bridge and the stones, the tree gives it a wonderful dimension. It has a small problem on the horizon that causes it to be slightly tilted. Other than that, it's still a wonderful image.

This image is absolutely fantastic. I love the high contrast that only shows the silhouettes of the cables and lamps. The church lost in the mist is beautiful. I love how the silhouettes of the roofs and windows look against the black background of the buildings. Congratulations!

A true masterpiece, the long exposure gives the fisherman that special touch and the city in the background behind the mist makes it mysterious. Perhaps the only thing I would have done is remove some of the sky to better handle the rule of thirds, however it is only a subjective opinion. Otherwise it is wonderful. fantastic!

This wonderful photo is one of my favorites. not only because of the image of the girl from behind in the foreground, but also because of the perfect handling of black and white. Perhaps the only thing I would have worked on (and it's very subjective) is leaving less space to the right, which from my point of view doesn't add anything to the composition. Otherwise it is magnificent!

This photo demonstrates what it's like to be in the right place at the right time. The dawn ray that enters between the trees and the soccer field makes it fantastic. The morning hour creates an aura of mystery and curiosity. Nice job!
