I felt this image was worthy of a place because it was the only cheque book entered which I mentioned in the brief as an example of what I was looking for, for those who did not read the brief I asked for black and white only and no transport , needless to say I got so many variations of transport I thought I was in the centre of London . So thank you to this photographer for reading and following the brief , you deserve your place in my top ten .
This is a truly stunning image and only just pipped at the post, the background gives off the style of a farmhouse porch and contrasts perfectly against the subject , the lady looks so contented in her task as her right foot gently works the peddle that in turn spins the cotton into thread , it’s nice that the photographer chose not to freeze the shot so as to show the wheel spinning which adds movement and interest , super thoughtful work ,well done .
It was with much dismay that so many people did not read the brief, there was so many colour images and so many transport images. It would help the judges immensely if you all take the time to read the brief before entering your images in the future , you are all photographers, let’s bring back fair play to these competitions please . Now to my choice of winning images. ....>.....................My Winner............................... This is a stunning image and worthy of my top spot, the happiness shown on the faces is infectious , in our throw away society we discard older models of technology for the latest gadgets and so make them obsolete ,there are many people like this group that appreciate what they have , the quality of this image is truly wonderful to me , an excellent piece of photography. Thank you for sharing you’re excellent work in my competition ,Very well done.
This is a super sepia sentimental image , that to me depicts days gone by ,yes very few people write a letter these days as texting and email and other forms of communication have taken over which make writing letters somewhat obsolete but how nice when a letter drops on your door mat from a loved one , it’s the simple things in life that brings the most joy. Thank you for sharing your memories with us , Well done for thinking out of the box too.
Lovely image , among the numerous cameras entered this one stood out for me , it has super clarity and the thought you put into setting up this still life image made it eye catching and unique , this image holds , not to much and not too little , well done on a super capture and a place in my top ten
