Wow, what a wonderful demonstration of how light can be used to creatively add mood and atmosphere. The hard, harsh light on the apple has produced a wonderful shadow. A shadow that gives the image a real sense of drama. Good work.

Wow, this really has an 'on the edge' sense of tension. I'm not so sure I'd feel entirely comfortable sitting under that boulder. Love the tonality and skillfully way the black and white tones have been controlled. The human figures make the scene and it gives it its 'edge'.

The reality of a situation is often very different from the versions we get to see on social media. I love the way the photographer has taken a literal. and existential step back to include all the people in this scene and perhaps make a comment on humanity's relationship with nature and the environment.

The wonderful light makes this image sing! I love the creative use of lens flare, which is often considered a mistake, it adds, depth and emotion. The composition works well too with the centrally positioned subjects creating a lovely aspirational focal point.

As the founder of Potato Photographer of the Year, how could I not be drawn to this inspired piece of work? I love the imaginative concept and admire the skill with which it's been realised with the help of some artful post-processing work.
