For this contest, I would like to see your best photos of pedestrian-only walkways that exist between buildings. While people can be in the image, they should not be the main focus or in the extreme foreground of the shot. Entries can be in colour or black and white. No nudity please.

Unlike most of the other submissions, this shot is unadorned and unassuming, with clean lines and simple shapes. Add the angle of the shot and the placement of the incoming light, all of those things combine to make a beautiful composition. The bright exterior draws the eye immediately, but the shadowy wall pulls the eye into the photo, making the viewer intrigued as to what lies around the corner. Absolutely fantastic shot!

The red hats did it! Not only does this shot show a pedestrian walkway laid out within a shopping area, it showcases the red hat umbrellas atop alfresco dining tables that give the walkway character. The photographer has framed the shot excellently to capture significant elements on both sides of the walkway, as well as beyond. Well done!

Two things jump out at me with this photo: angle and color. The photographer has positioned the camera on or very near the path surface to create a distinct view of this pedestrian walkway. The grass between to cobblestones has the leading lines to draw the eye down to a point near an arched doorway in the distance. My favorite part of the image is the yellow exteriors that frame the shot, and especially the greenery that adds interest. Well done to the photographer for this well thought out composition!

I love the beautiful simplicity of this shot, as well as the minimalist quality in its colors. The photographer has chosen to use the end of an arched tunnel to frame a meandering walkway that is enhanced by two sets of steps. Breaking the continuous white facade is a small mass of green in the form of a potted plant. It breaks the scene in two, bringing the eye to rest on the curved steps, while teasing to eye to look beyond it to see what is there. Well done!
