What a beautiful scene, and one which is surprising and original. I love the aperture choice - f20 gives us so much detail and works very well to emphasise how the mist slowly lifts from the background to the foreground. I love the simplicity of the lines on the left - places where we might walk in a structured, clean and safe way, juxtaposed with the complexity on the right - a mass of barriers and potential danger. Congratulations.

Wow - this stopped me in my tracks. Like a Jan Pienkowski illustration in a fairy story, the exposure, toning and apperture give a highly detailed block of story-rich content that makes the eye linger and wonder. I absolutely adore the fine lines. The cluster of bird and figures is very pleasing. The combination of steel and plantlife is intriguing. This was a particularly strong contest in my opinion. Congratulations on first place!
This image made me smile right away. A 28mm focal length with an f13 aperture is the perfect combination for detail and story-rich street photography. I adore the colours and the light - a vibrant range of primary and ice cream colours, highlighting the reality of life on the seafront. A present day Last Resort. Congratulations.
Well, this is something else. What a composition. I adore the texture and detail in the waves, the cool colour treatment and generous depth of field. The action, frozen in high drama, has such power and impact. I particularly love the bright white spray of water helping lead the eye from the foreground to the background. Itโs a very impressive image. Congratulations.
This image caught my eye right away. Itโs unusual and full of detail. There are forms everywhere - lines and shapes that pull in the viewer - emphasises by the monochromatic toning. Thereโs a slight absurdity that I really like. The rope appears snakelike, merging with the natural plantlife underneath, while the building appears to be slowly taken over by the plantlife above it. Thereโs a definite coastal feel, but itโs subtle and I love the originality here. Congratulations.
What an eye catching image. I appreciate the point of view here the careful placing of the wheel, clearly in the scene but foregrounded by dereliction. The residence in the middle speaking to the nature of the location while the wording on the wall speaks to it being in the past. Itโs a thoughtful and powerful image. Congratulations.
This is an image of treasures of detail. I adore the tiny gilt pieces, emphasised by their highlights, juxtaposed with the splodges of dirt on the glass. The tiny line of red is expertly placed compositionally to line up with the wall. The symmetry is spot on. The barely there figure in the background contrasts with the apparent vast emptiness of the scene - a place to gather and soak up the atmosphere. It makes me want to sit down with some chips. Congratulations.
I find this an incredibly touching scene. The most beautiful rim light on the figures emphasise the lean in of the adult and the height of the child. Their strong centre placement gives them weight but the large structure so far away gives vulnerability. The lone figure paddle boarding and the vertical structure on the beach give balance. The fading light and beautiful toning add to the mood. The many tiny highlights on the beach bring a magical quality. Congratulations.
I adore the simplicity and quiet humour of this image. The mist slightly dulls the flagโs colours and its size compositionally feels intentional. I appreciate the clean lines and the bold composition and like the subtle gradient in the sky. The aperture allows us to see a lot of detail of dilapidation which adds to the mood of the scene. Congratulations.
What an exquisitely beautiful scene. I love the portrait orientation with the negative space above the clouds - a luxurious composition which allows for the colour palette to develop through the frame. The structure, obviously large in real life, is reduced in both relative size and compositional priority, giving a feeling of the enormity of the world around us. Congratulations.

Seafront architecture has many themes that are particular to its location. From Victorian cast iron pleasure piers, to fishermenโs cottages, and incorporating all manner of other buildings associated with the seafrontโs varied uses. We go there on holiday, we set sail from it to travel afar, or to catch and bring back the seaโs bounty, and we live on it, with a prized sea-view if weโre one of the lucky ones.
Wow - this is a beautiful scene, expertly captured. I very much appreciate the painterly treatment, especially in the details in the sky. The light in the clouds is wonderful, and the warmth in the colours of the beach huts and across the sea is lovely. I like the lone figure and the scale of the scene. Congratulations.
