Small Man-Made Objects Made of Wood

First of all, congratulations on being the 1st place winner in my competition. For me, your photograph completely hit the brief in every aspect. I particularly love the way the scene has been lit and how the wooden characters have been arranged in a balanced way. The whole composition really showcases the wood detail without too many distractions. The use of a reflective surface adds another dimension and it is great to still be able to see the wood grain in the reflection. Very well done and thanks for entering.

Congratulations on achieving 5th place in my competition. There were some great pencil photographs entered but yours stood out to me for several reasons. Firstly, by using the shavings in the way you have, I can really see the wood detail. Macro close-up and the use of reflection further enhance a great shot. In addition, the strong colours against a black background really make the picture pop. Very well done.

Well done on achieving 3rd place in my competition. Your photograph really stood out for me amongst the other great bird box pictures entered. I particularly like the limited colour palette and background light showing through the windows. For me, these details help make the wood textures stand out perfectly. Capturing the Great Tit feeding at the box is a lovely bonus. Such a great shot.

Congratulations on achieving 2nd place in my competition. As well as seeing great detail and colour in the carved wooden puppets, I feel a real sense of movement from your photograph. For me, this is a favourite aspect of the picture. Additionally, I like the focus on the lead puppet which really draws the eye then leads into a lovely bokeh background.
