Great contest!

This is such a good image especially in the way the photographer hasn't caught themselves in the mirror. The TLR graffiti lends it a bit of humour and the gap at top and bottom showing the roadway behind the mirror. Well spotted.

A really good shot and, like the winner, it says so much about our modern society; and another type of addiction. A well framed and well angled image, and the colours are so "real". There really is a back-story to this photograph. Thanks for entering.

Well done and well spotted, this is an excellent shot and just what I was looking for. I wonder whether the doll was thrown away because of the lost arm or has some poor little girl dropped her favourite toy and hadn't realised. Very crisp exposure too, thanks for entering.

A really colourful shot which caught my eye straight away, very pre-Raphaelite. There were a lot of abandoned bicycle shots but I liked this one because it reminded me of John Everett Millais' painting, "Ophelia". Well spotted and well done on a nice shot.

I really liked the composition of this image and there must have been a story behind it. Sadly, the thing that, for me, let it down was the washed-out, too bright area on the left. I wonder if taking a few shots from different angles might have helped. Such a sad image, couldn't even be bothered to use the bin. Thanks for entering.

A "throw-away" society has become the norm nowadays and I have been taking lot of shots of the debris dropped by humanity on my trips. Let's see what flotsam and jetsam you have spotted around the highways and byways on your travels, or even in your own locality; try to show an image that could have a story behind it. The image can be amusing or poignant, but no Photoshopped or rigged images please. Also, no shots of homeless people in doorways, or drunks asleep on pavements, let's keep this light-hearted. Enjoy yourselves.

A really good image and great use of the good old 50mm lens. Well done to spot the opportunity but I do wonder what he was doing because he didn't enter this contest. Sometimes it's nice to know that you aren't alone in taking photographs of street rubbish. Thanks for entering it.

There were quite a lot of entries of shoes and boots hanging from wires, and even trees, but this one seems to be the only pair that looked as though it deserved to be thrown away. I wonder, when on my travels and I see these, when and why this phenomenon started. Well spotted and a good shot, thanks for entering.

Having seen this sort of "decoration" in lots of cities on my travels, and not just in the UK, I really wonder when and why it started. These look like a perfectly good pair of Timberlands, so why are they up a tree? There have been a number of shots of discarded footwear and I was torn between this and the one that made it to the Top 10. I love the way you have taken the shot using the depth of field to isolate the main subject. A really great image, thanks for entering.
