Many thanks for all the submissions towards this contest. Numerous names such as Henri Cartier-Bresson have inspired street photography. The selected photos, here, I hope, will inspire and lay down foundations with current and new generations. As number One, I have selected this composition not only because of it's simplicity but also because of it's difficulty. Well done for mastering spontaneity or at least exploring an opportunity as well as the bad weather in this incredible shot. Without say the reduction of color enhanced it even further by placing an emphasis on a world dominated by black and white only. We all know that life has many shades of grey and is full of colors as we can see in some of the other selected compositions but what if it isn't! What if life is reduced to solely black and white as it is for some people suffering from mental health issues or from isolation, neglect, segragation or oppression? How does that feel? This is the overall impression that this composition has left me with. But it is one of many and as we can observe with the other selected, human activity can take many shapes and forms, much brighter for most.

The main requirement for your entries in this contest will be that your composition contains individuals, ordinary and unknown to you, captured in urban streets going on with their daily business or activities. The choice of subject, activities and environment is entirely yours. Please no entries showing individuals involved in demonstrations, street performers or family and friends pictures. Your entries can be in colour or in black and white. I am looking forward to seeing your compositions.
