Anyone familiar with this type of fabric and garments will appreciate how well and how realistically it has been captured. The colours are spot-on, and the focusing and control of the light are such that the loose weave of these slightly rough-textured crinkley fabrics is perfectly captured. Good use of the light helps reveal thd folds and drape of the lightweight fabric. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the softness of the fabric that you have managed to convey in this image. The lighting is not harsh, and the light shadow areas reveal the gentle folds of the garment, which helps reveal the soft textures. The subject is simple, but there are plenty of little details to hold the interest and for the eye to explore, from the variity of stitch patterns in the knig to the thin ties. The colouring looks very natural, and you look to have avoided any ugly colour cast that can be a problem sometimes when photographing a subject which is just one colour. Lovely image, well done on your top ten placing.
I really like the close in view that we are given of this denim shirt, with the subject filling the frame. I like the image more the longer I look, and it has risen up through the placings during my reviews of the images. It is often difficult to know how best to set-up and frame a shot such as this, but there are plenty of little details, lines and curves to capture the attention and hold the interest. The texture of the cloth has been really well captured, and I especially like the capture of little details like the slightly runkled edge along the side of the collar, which is very true to life. A simple subject, well captured. Congratulations on your third place finish.
Some would find a stack of fabric a rather uninteresting subject to photograph, but captured in the right way, I think it becomes very interesting with much for the eye to explore. There is enough difference in each of the fabrics to be interesting, but the patterns and colours are quite harmonious, so do not overwhelm. I may have been tempted to present the image in landscape format, if for no other reason of giving a larger view so as to create more impact. A great image though, photographically well executed too. Well done on your top ten placing.
This was a late entry to my top ten, but one I kept coming back to. I imagine the subject was set up, but there is an easy casualness to the shot, also reflected in the garments being shown. I like that the colouring is blue throughout, as this brings harmony across the frame, but the shades and patterns of the fabrics ensure the differences are clear. The inclusion of the button is an important detail that strengthens the image. Well done on your top ten placing.
A super example of an image captured using a wide lens aperture, which creates a shallow depth of field. It can be difficult to know where best to place the focus point, and to what extent the subject should fall out of focus, but I think you have it just right here. The crocheted blanket has been set up well in the composition, with sharp focus just above the corner of the blanket, which is positioned nicely on the "thirds". The out of focus areas are not distracting, and the different colours that are visible help describe the subject beyond what we can clearly see. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
This image is all about the light, which has been so well used and captured. The light coming through the closed shutters behind the subject helps show the shapes of the chair and throw, as in a silhouette. However light falling onto the subject from the front/side also shows all the detail we need to see. Although the woollen blanket is not that close-up, we can still see the detail in the textures of the cloth, and get a good sense of the light softness of the blanket. Colours are gorgeous, and the darker tones convey a feeling of richness and comfort. Congratulations on your winning image.

I would like to see your photos of textiles. Textiles are any flexible fabric or cloth made from yarns such as cotton, wool, silk or synthetic fibres such as polyester. Images can show textiles in any context, for example in production such as weaving or knitting, or textile items being sold, in use or being worn. Photos can show the textiles close up, maybe highlighting the texture and weave of the fabric, or can show a wider view, but the textile must be the main focal point of your photo. Please do not enter photos of sheep, plants like cotton in the fields, or empty weaving looms etc with no textiles in the shot. Entries can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your images.

Something as ordinary as frost protection on a patch of strawberries has created a wonderful image, and you have done especially well to spot the potential here. The image has been well composed, with the main folds of the fabric running across the frame on a diagonal. The light has been well handled, as the image is light enough to give a feelng of softness, but there are enough shadows to convey the form of the cloth and the gentle undulations. I love the colouring too, with the green of the plants beneath looking like a design on the fabric. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
