This photograph is amazing for so many reasons ..
An iconic work of art from such a unique angle ... the sky and the clouds .. the sharpness and the editing - it all goes into creating a very powerful image of St Peter holding the Keys to the Kingdom.
Photography is at it's most powerful when the photo tells a story and this image is constructed in such a way to really show the power and the importance of St Peter with the heavens above him.

A beautiful long exposure of the Grand Canal - There was a lot of entrants with photos from this iconic place but this one I felt had the best composition and quality overall ... A wonderful, smooth and silky shot - the bright lights pop against the dark and shadows and it is very very worthy of a place in the top 10 of this competition.

The Carnevale di Venezia is one of, if not the best tributes to the Renaissance period that we celebrate today - so many events taking place during the festival, the dress and costumes, the atmosphere in the city - it truly is an amazing experience and this shot sums it up perfectly.
An amazingly sharp, well framed image with a unique subject - good separation between subject and background makes the image really pop and overall this is a fantastic entry into my Renaissance themed contest.

A remarkable capture and a real display of the power and capability of camera phones these days. Beautiful lighting with great sharpness and colours. The renaissance was one of the most important and amazing times in European history. The birth of our understanding of science, added to magnificent changes in culture, architecture and the arts seen this period provide us some beautiful and inspiring subjects for our imagery today. Images can show art, architecture, people, places or anything else that can be attributed to or was inspired by the renaissance. Colour and black and white photos are welcome.

The only alteration I would have made had I edited this shot myself would have been a tad more depth in the colours perhaps, but overall a beautiful shot and I'm very glad you decided to enter and share with us..
