What a View! (in colour)

It was love at first sight. Yes, it is a very famous view and there are a number of other examples in the contest, but it was the very special, moody atmosphere created in this image, that bowled me over. I can see myself sitting or standing there, feeling the loneliest person on the planet, looking at the bright lights across the water - yet an eternity away. Congratulations to being my winner.

How lucky can you get, to see not just one whale, but a whole pod. It surely was an unforgettable experience. With such breathtaking background scenery, this image has it all in buckets. You've got the composition absolutely spot on, great action shot.

Simply stunning in its vivid colour contrasts. I love your idea of this low angle, as it is exactly the inclusion of these brightly coloured crocuses that 'makes' this image. Despite the snowy mountains, the photo feels warm, bathed in spring's awakening warming rays. Thank you for entering.

i don't know why you have placed this castle near Zaragoza/Spain on your map, but this wonderful castle is indeed in Germany, at the southern edge of the Swabian alp plateau It should really be more appreciated abroad, but as it wasn't used by Disney, it only has its history and less sugar-coated beauty to offer. Thank you so much for entering this image, it has made me very happy.

What a find! We all have seen so many photos of the statue of liberty, but I certainly haven't seen it like this. By including the wider area and using it only as part of the whole image, you give it perspective - something that is usually missing. You certainly made excellent use of your helicopter flight, as it is exactly these kind of photos with a difference, that are near impossible without one, or a drone.
