Though there's not much colour, the high level of detail and toning makes this a stunning image. Afterall, elephants aren't brightly coloured anyway! The detail in the wood is stunning and pin sharp. I love the positioning of the knot in the frame and feel that with it being sat to one side, aids the images feel of being an elephant's face. The yellow/brown tone to the knot is exquisite and acts as a very well placed, though natural, pupil of an eye. A very worthy winning image. Congratulations.
