This image was very close to the top spot, and is a strong industrial architectural shot, with well balanced composition and framing. For me the viewpoint is spot on, as we are far enough away to get a sense of the whole building, but close enough in to see all the wonderful details on the various surfaces. Great colouring across the shot, with a limited colour palette of cool bluey-greys and whites, with little accents of warmer browns in the wood and rust. Many will likely find the subject of this image quite dull and ugly, but I find it fascinating and could keep looking at it for an age. Super capture, well done on your second place finish.
I love this image, which has captured everything I hoped to see in the entries in this contest. The colours are wonderful, rich tones which contrast and compliment each other, and emphasise the complete hotchpotch of the building. It would be interesting to also see another wider view of this area to get the context of this structure and its surroundings, but the base architecture looks to be quite grand, with the multiple additions of various pieces of metal added over time to presumably shutter and secure the property. Fabulous detail, lots to hold the attention, very well composed and framed. Excellent work, congratulations on your winning image.
A bold architectural abstract, making the most of the simple lines and shapes to create a wonderful minimalist image. Almost monochrome, but maybe not quite, the strong lighting on the face of the building contrasts very well with the deep grey sky. I imagine the sky has been digitally manipulated, but the overall effect is very successful. Great composition, you have done really well to create such a strong image from a simple modern structure. Lovely image, well done on your top ten placing.
This is just the type of image I was hoping to see in this contest, simple shapes and lines of a minimalist architectural composition, with plenty of corrugation. I love the limited colour palette of the steely grey sky and the bluey grey of the corrugated structure, both possibly adjusted in processing, but it works well. Framing is spot on, well considered and ensuring verticals, horizontals and diagonals are all precisely placed. Super image, well done on your top ten placing.

This is a simple composition of a mundane subject, but there is something about it which has great appeal. I find corrugared metal structures quite fascinating, and here you have captured one of the things I love, being the variation in colours and textures over quite a small area, as a result of rust and weathering of the original surface colours. I love the tones and colours you have captured, well exposed but avoiding any over-saturation of the bolder red and yellow. A great architectural abstract, well done on your top ten placing.
For me the success of this image is a combination of several things - the lovely contrast of colours between the rusty orange and the aqua blue, the strong composition and framing, and the clear focus on the surface of the metal. The textures you have captures are great, with the regular ridges of the corrugation and the rough and irregular black speckles formed by whatever has been emitted from the vent. Such a simple image, which most would overlook as a photographic subject, but for me it has been very well executed to produce a great image. Well done on your top ten placing.
This is a very strong monochrome image, very well handled in conversion from colour to emphasise the lines and shapes of this intriguing structure. Although I have not seen a colour version of this image, I think the decision to convert to black and white was a good one, as I imagine it strengthens the shot. Some great textures, highlighted by the full range of tones from the darkest to the lightest. I like the tight crop which keeps everything contained, and keeps full focus on the subject, which is full of interest with masses of variety to hold the attention. Another image many would find unattractive, but I love it. Super image, congratulations on your third place finish.
This is a very different image to most in this contest, which tended to focus on rusting architecture and metal structures. The simple scroll of corrugated cardboard, nicely converted to black and white, helped the image stand out for attention and get a well deserved placing. A rather mundane subject, but it has been well set up and composed, with the grass adding a bit of softness, but not distracting from the curves and lines of the cardboard. Your focus point and fairly shallow depth of field keep the attention on the nearest edge of the subject, revealing all the detail of the corrugation. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
This image was a late addition to my top ten, and is one I like more the longer I look. The shot is well lit with gently diffused light, avoiding any harsh highlights or shadows. I think the main success of the image for me is that the frame is filled with just greens of the trees and the rusty reds and greys of the building, which provide a lovely contrast. Composition is well balanced and everything in sharp focus as a result of the narrow aperture. Well done on your top ten placing.
I really like the point of view and composition of this shot, which seems to pull us into the frame. The contrast between the cool colours of the sky and the warmer hues of the rough grasses and the building work very well, and the lower viewpoint and colour contrast allow the corrugated building to stand out well against the sky. A narrow aperture has kept everything sharp from front to back, and the wide angle lens has been used sensitively and gives a great dynamic to the shot. Lovely image, well done on your top ten placing.

In this contest I would like to see your photos which show corrugated materials. Corrugated panels and surfaces are composed of materials such as metal, fibreglass and plastic, shaped into a series of parallel ridges and furrows to provide strength. It is used throughout the world for construction, from modern industrial warehouses to simple rural dwellings. Your image could show close up details of corrugated materials, or a wider view of the buildings and structures composed fully, or partially of corrugated materials. Please make sure the corrugated subject is an obvious feature of your image. I look forward to seeing your entries.
