I find it hard to stop looking at this photo! It displays one of the most perfect uses of post-processing that I've ever seen. The colours are just right, the contrast is just right, the exposure is just right, the composition is just right, everything is JUST RIGHT. A fantastic photo and a worthy winner. Thank you for entering the competition.

This photo gets better the bigger you see it. Luckily, I am viewing it on a 27" iMac so it looks fantastic! The choice of colours is sensitive and it captures that 'early morning' feeling perfectly, adding a touch of beauty to containers and cranes (!) Thanks for entering the competition and congratulations on your finishing place.

As with other entries in the top 10, you have managed to take a different photo of a much photographed view, not by using a different perspective, but by using the light available and taking advantage of the opportunity given to you by the changing weather. This is a great example of capturing the 'moment' and it's a brilliant photo. Well done and thanks for entering the competition.

A great photo for a couple of reasons;

  1. At first I thought it was in 4:3 or a similar ratio, but then I noticed the dark pillars at both edges of the photo. It's a really clever illusion.
  2. I've seen thousands of photos of Canary Wharf and the o2 arena, but I've never seen one from this perspective. So that really makes it stand out for me. Getting a fresh perspective of a much photographed subject takes some effort and it's a bonus when it's done this well. Congratulations and thanks for entering the competition.

As with another top 10 entrant, you have used a new perspective to get a different view of a much photographed part of the capital. The Sunborn adds interest without overtaking the photo, which is a great use of composition. Also the detail and contrast is spot on. Well done and thank you for entering the competition.

You have made Birkenhead docks look beautiful, colourful and a touch glamorous, which is little short of a miracle (!) It's a clever use of the foreground too to lead your eye into the docks in the background. Congratulations and thank you for entering the competition.

It's difficult to make an industrial setting such as working docks look beautiful, but you have worked magic here. The reflections, composition and colour casting are just perfect, and as with another photo in the top 10, you must have been tempted to convert this into black and white but you made the right choice to keep it in colour. Great photo. Thanks for entering the competition.

This is a brilliant photo, but it's of a bridge, not docklands, so I can't judge it in the context of this contest. I think if this was entered in a contest for bridge photos though, it would be a clear top 10, if not a winner. Thank you for entering the competition.
