Simple, bold and beautiful. It's incredible how five full sacks can become such a captivating subject when seen, noticed and captured by someone with a creative vision. All aspects of this image feel artfully considered, from the placement of the sacks in the frame to handling the dark, moody, blue-hued wall.
At what point does the photographer's creativity transcend making a record of another artist's art and become something expressive in its own right? Well, here's a good example: the composition, appreciation of colour and the use of light all add something to the scene that brings another layer of expression and artistry. Good work.
Simply stunning! I love the reference to The Tempest by Giogiione, too; it is an inspired interpretation. I also love the way the covered contraptions take on a sculptural form in their own right, and to continue the history of art connection, perhaps they speak to Marcel Duchamp's ideas around Readymades or 'found art'.

When wandering with our cameras we are often on the lookout for something exciting, something that fits our idea of being photogenic, or beautiful. But what if you started taking pictures of the ‘boring’ places, the back of the shops, the car park, the gate to the local field, or the side of your house? There are many opportunities close at hand to explore, to frame and compose, and to study with your camera and your eye, asking what can be found that is interesting there.
Wow, it doesn't get much more mundane than drying socks on a washing line. However, the photographer has managed to make a wonderfully engaging image. Thanks in part to the vibrant yellow, strong shadows and contrast which have been beautifully balanced and skillfully captured. It feels like a musical sock score. Clever stuff.
