One Entire Insect (in colour)

Thank you so much for entering this sparkling beauty into the contest. There were many dragonfly images in even closer detail, but none could outshine your dainty, shimmering insect. There is nothing that distracts the eyes, very minimalistic, but so effective. The lighting, which gives the wings such irresistible effect, is pure genius in my eyes. It's what 'makes' this photo!

Hello - is it me you're looking for?? What a miracle in natural camouflage! This praying mantis may not be the winner for best-looking mantis, but there is so much interesting detail in this image, that's inviting the viewer to study every detail. Perfect composition. Thank you so much.

Wow - I didn't realize that bees are that flexible! At first glance it looks like an insect in two halves - amazing photo! Very clear focus and detailed, the distance is just right in my view. I'm very grateful that you've entered this image, as it really stands out for me against very hard competition.

I love cuddly and would have never thought that such an evil insect and one of my pet hates could become my winner in this very competitive contest! This image was my winner almost from the moment I saw it, even though there were so many amazing entries. Everything about the composition is perfect: the plain background, the lighting, the reflexion und the angle of the insect itself. It leads the viewers eyes to the large eye of the weevil and that is where most of its charm lies. Congratulations.
