Street Corners in Cities

Congratulations and thank you for participating! Without a doubt, this is a different interpretation of the contest's theme. The sense of movement rounding the corner that the photograph conveys makes it very interesting and dynamic. In my judgment, the intense shadow of the man turning the corner in contrast with the lighting on the cobblestones and the white building in the background leaves no doubt that the focal point is the corner.

Thank you for participating and congratulations on the third place. The contrast between the yellowish lights, the intense blue sky, and the red of the Chinese lanterns makes this photograph beautiful and striking. The lines of lanterns pointing towards the building and the people standing still reading the menu clearly indicate that the corner as a whole is the main subject. In my judgment, the distortion of the building's perspective caused by the lens adds interest and drama to the scene in this case.

Congratulations and thank you for participating. Without a doubt, the dozens of motorcycles leaving a trail of light unmistakably indicate that this is a very busy corner of the city. The various signs above and the people in the tiered restaurants add interest and clearly show that the corner is the subject. In my judgment, even though the sky is completely black, the image works well due to all the artificial lighting in the scene.

The blue of the corner, along with the pink of the convertible and the yellow of the small minibus, make this photograph striking from the first glance. The continuous corridor between two different buildings undoubtedly makes this a unique corner. The people in the photograph make it interesting to explore, give it dimension, and reflect the everyday life of the city.
