Great composition. The red light is perfectly positioned "looking" out of the corner of the frame and really grabs the viewers attention. The criss crossing lines work well. I think it would have looked better without the building but I still love the image. Well spotted

As grids go it certainly isn't uniform you are right! A really interesting image. The tiny pylons layered up over each other really make you look closely to check what they are. The dark moody sky helps bring a sense of foreboding to the picture and balances the black at the bottom of the frame nicely. Great shot and well deserved winner.

Their angular construction is often contrasted with natural surroundings, and in some cases they are even now designed to blend in with those surroundings.

just a suggestion but if you had laid down on the floor you could have made the most of the horizontal lines of the wooden wooden path and at that angle the vertical fence posts would have then framed the mast
