The Amateur Photographer magazine editorial team

Nigel Atherton Group editor – photography titles, TI Media Limited

Nigel studied photography at Plymouth College of Art & Design and the University of Westminster and worked as a professional photographer for over 10 years before joining Amateur Photographer magazine in 1994. He was appointed editor of What Digital Camera in 2002, and Group Editor of the IPC Media photography portfolio (including Amateur Photographer) in 2013.

Amy Davies Features Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine, TI Media Limited

Amy has been working in the photography industry since 2009 working across a variety of photography titles. Currently one of the Features Editors for Amateur Photographer, she also freelances for many other publications, using and reviewing all of the latest photography equipment. She has been a photographer for just over 15 years, and has had her images published in a wide variety of magazines and books, as well as exhibiting her work in a number of exhibitions.

Geoff Harris Deputy Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine, TI Media Limited

Geoff is the Deputy Editor of AP and a veteran photography journalist with over 20 years magazine experience. He is the former editor of Digital Camera and PhotoPlus magazines, and is also a keen photographer. Geoff reached the finals of the 2016 Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition, and also runs a successful wedding and portrait photography business in his spare time.

Hollie Latham Hucker Technique Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine, TI Media Limited

Hollie joined Amateur Photographer in 2016 and now works as Technique Editor. Prior to working at AP, she worked on PhotoPlus magazine for nearly five years as a Staff Writer and then Technique Editor. She also has a 1st Class BA(Hons) degree in Photography from the University of Plymouth, where she studied from 2007-2010.

Andrew Sydenham Studio Manager – Amateur Photographer Magazine, TI Media Limited

Andrew studied photography at West Surrey College of Art and Design and spent 30 years as a Studio Photographer specialising in food before joining AP in 2011. As well as product photography and lab testing for AP Andrew’s work appears in magazines across the whole of Time Inc’s Specialist Portfolio.

Ailsa McWhinnie

Ailsa’s first job in photography magazines was back in 1994. Since then, she has gone on to work on a number of titles, and she edited Black & White Photography magazine for its first seven years. She has also authored and edited a number of books, including bestseller The Complete Photography Manual. Although she still harbours a love of film photography and darkroom printing, she has recently (finally) dipped her toe into digital.
