Lorentz has worn many hats during his successful career as a photographer that spans over 25 years. Starting as a studio-based advertising photographer, then with forays into fashion, glamour, lifestyle, location, travel, and automotive photography. Most of his current work is portraiture that has developed from personal projects.
A look at Lorentz’s portfolio confirms the breadth of his skills, which have been recognised extensively, including a rare Gold award from the Association of Photographers, featuring in Lurzer’s “World’s Best Advertising Photographers”, and with work in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery (UK).
Lorentz has an MA in Visual Communication, lectures at several universities and colleges, and also offers private photography coaching and workshops. He calls himself a coach rather than a teacher, believing that nurturing an individual’s own vision is the best way to develop the photographer's skills.
